I have narrowed down my target audience and will be posting a profile of them and what interests them on my context blog a.s.a.p.
During discussions with Lorenzo, he stressed the importance of identifying my audience before taking any more steps. I agreed, and felt a little silly not for getting on top of this earlier. He also said that my resolutions should capture their attention and attend to their needs.
I chose a specific target audience in order to narrow the focus of my development work, which will help me select a clear path to take this brief down. It would have been silly on my part to create something generic that just exists, as the possibilities for that could be endless and time consuming with no gain at the end of it.
Target audience: who are they?
I decided to focus on young working class adults. They are bus commuters who work during the week and socialise with friends during the evenings and weekends. They are in touch with the latest technology and use the social networking sites.
what do they do?
They go to pubs and clubs and drink regularly. They enjoy being out but don't enjoy the day after. They drink responsibly but will throw caution to the wind every now again. They don't really enjoy their jobs and use the weekend to let their hair down. They regularly use facebook, and twitter.
Where do they go?
They go to the same clubs in town every week to catch up with friends. They occassionally use the local gym but they are not fitness freaks.
What influences them?
Music - Dance, Pop, alternative, chart music
TV - Topical, trashy, comedy, sport
Fashion
Gossip
