Luxury Gift box development: Branding

It was suggested to me in the crit that I should perhaps create a brand or logo for my product, which would act as a launch pad for the revival of the physical format. The target audience remains as downloaders but the look of the packaging has to be sophisticated and luxurious. I played around with a few ideas for a name. First was 'Luxury Audio' which seemed like more of a description than the name of a brand or product.

I jotted down a few other names in the mix but it was always a one
horse race, and I decided to call the brand 'Audio Indulgence'. From here I could sketch out some ideas for the brand and hope to come up with something bold, fresh, but also that could be seen on packaging like mine. I went ahead and seemed to ignore the research I had done and developed logo with the symbols 'AI'. I went back and tried to modify it a little but nothing could worked successfully.

I liked it but other opinions showed that this symbol was quite masculine and also quite 'techy'. I had to agree, as I knew something like this wouldn't be found on luxurious packaging. I moved on and looked more towards the luxury chocolate market again. I tried out a lot of serif and sans serif combinations with scripted fonts to achieve the right look. I finally settled on this type of design. It does have a luxurious feel without being too effeminate. The gold colour is a pantone metallic which I know I can't print in but I can put that in my evaluation.

That is where I am at the minute in terms of logo development. I'm working on nets and possible packaging solutions now, as well as a campaign for distribution.
