Another crit, and more problems arise. The general feeling was that everyone thought my work was strong, and that the context part of it linked to my practice, a little too much in one case.
The Late music brief was something that people picked up that could/should be amended to suit the audience. To be fair, I should have done some colour variations before now and find a colour that worked with my peers before creating the whole range. They felt the pink pantone didn't work, and asked me why I had used it, to which I had no answer. They suggested a 'dusty rose' red as being perhaps a better option than the pink and would engage the target audience more than the pink, after all the audience are mature in age and taste.
It isn't such a big problem, but the printing will involve my time and cost, which is a little annoying.
The Zac Helmore brief I started this morning received mixed reviews. Some felt that his work should be shown in his stationery and some felt that the photography type should have more impact as they would want to know his profession before hiring him.
Overall the feedback was good, and I'm happy that they pointed out the falls sooner rather than later. I can now get the Late Music brief done and out of the way and continue to develop the Helmore brief tomorrow.
