In light of the crit and on going discussions, I have decided to go back to the original plan of printing t-shirts for the Element brief. The new Element brief brought about questions of why I was doing it differently now, and that I shouldn't change the brief at this close to my imposed deadlines. This all comes down to quick and effective decision making again, and I have been drawn into changing things when I shouldn't.
So I am now going back to creating a range of t-shirts, tags, bags, product info, etc instead of developing a full typeface.
After discussions with Liam we felt it was right to drop the collaborative brief for the time being, as his crit highlighted that we have similar skills and work in the same areas. I also became unsure once the competition briefs were released as there was no book cover brief in the selection.
Since then, I have started negotiations to collaborate with a photography student on the Arkitekt brief, and I am still looking to get images for the magazine. Since Joe's talk where he mentioned flickr for sourcing images I have been on and contacted a few photographers in the hope of persuading them to allow me to use their images.
I have also selected a competition brief from the D&AD website and plan on factoring that in around the time that I was going to work on the book cover brief.
Shuffling the briefs around again
