Rewriting the briefs

I brought in a few briefs which caught my eye for different reasons. I brought in ones I would never attempt, ones I thought I would enjoy to work as a team and others that I felt I would work best alone on. I found the 'Feel Good Drinks' brief the most appealing and hoped my creative partner would think so too.

The 'Engage Mutual Assurance' brief was the one that we both felt would not benefit us just because of how confused the brief came across as. We felt they didn't feel strong enough about what they actually wanted and trying to persuade new customers to the financial sector was a huge mountain to climb. We were no doubt up for the challenge but the brief just didn't excite, and we felt we would rather work on a brief that we were enthusiastic about.

Here's the rewrite of the Engage brief that we did. We have included the original to show contrast between their words and ours.

Our partnership decided that the 'Feel Good Drinks' brief was the one that interested the most. It made use of both of our skill sets and also allowed us to have fun with the brief even if the end result only proved to be a good portfolio piece. After looking at the website, it seemed obvious to me that commended pieces were often not the best what had been submitted which is why winning won't harm my progress too much, that said it would be nice to get some recognition. We are aware of the interest this brief would have but felt we could enter a really strong resolution regardless.
