Late Music - stock experimentation

To tie in with the rich content of my designs I decided to experiment with stock and hopefully get something I was happy with. I had order some sample stocks online and was happy to get to use them. Some of the papers were coated so I was skeptical about how they would print and James confirmed that it might be an issue.

I also bought coloured papers to work with if everything went wrong and used them for my posters.

As you can see below the coated papers just didn't work as they was nothing for the ink to adhere too. It's frustrating but I'm hoping for better results should I chose to do print them on the laser printers.

  2. These designs are working really well however we think it could work together as a set more if you loose the cream stock and keep to the neutral greys and whites with the bright pink.

Also be carefuly not to go overbaord with the print finishes, they look great as a subtle finish but i would rely on them for you design.

But think about if this is going to be appropriate for your brief. Is there a budget and where is it being spend? stock is very important and i think more so than finishes.

As they say 'less is more'
