Tutorial w/ Joe

Another helpful tutorial with Joe.

- I have to be more obvious about the project, explain the concepts and ideas
- Sell the product to a person that hasn't seen it yet.
- Use both vector artwork and product shots, not just product shots.
- Be selective about photo usage, what does it add (show detail, stock, etc)
- Use vector artwork to explain ideas better.

- Redo Arkitekt boards - Focus on logo development (in large and small scale, black and reversed out) varied covers to show how logo works, and then sell layouts / publication.

- Late music - scale website and iPad resolutions include laptop screen.

To Do List
- Action Plan
- Develop Helmore brief (envelope, pencil, website)
- Document Magnetic Man brief (research, development, finals) and boards
- Start new competition brief

- Soi, briefs, submission form, action plans, feedback, project file.

Helmore Stationery done

Here are my final proposals for the Zac Helmore brief. I can't afford to print them so I will propose them on the presentation boards like this.

Included in the stationery is a pen, envelope, letterhead, compliment slip, business card and website template.

Premier League boards

Presentation boards for the premier league brief. Nothing else much to say about these boards. They should explain themselves. I did decide to leave off some of the banner mock ups I did because they look so fake.

Final boards for Arkitekt brief. Nothing else much I can say about the boards. They should explain themselves.

Arkitekt style guides, done

Posted: Wednesday, 8 December 2010 | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , 0 comments

Happy with these given the amount of time spent on them. Really struggling for time and yet I can make time to really consider type and layout effectively. Going to print these on coloured stock and have white pages to differentiate between each guide. I felt that the information could be found quickly this way, and the designer would not have to trawl through a number of pages before they find the info they want.

Taking the final shots and mocking up the pie tray

Posted: Tuesday, 7 December 2010 | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , 0 comments

Today, I have been trying to shoot the photography for the presentation boards. I'm getting a little frustrated as its not up to the standard of those I took in the photography studios. I have resorted to trying create a similar environment but it isn't working. Nevertheless, I carried on to try to get some shots I could work with.

I mocked up the pie tray and photographed it with the rest of the work and it looks ok so I'll have to use it for the boards. The rest of the images just were not working so I will have to rethink and hopefully get them done tomorrow.

Arkitek style guide

The Arkitekt style guide is a publication with which I can present the template I have imposed throughout the brief. The publication acts as a set of guidelines to make designers aware of how to use the identity, how to set up the appropriate grid system, what fonts and colours to use, etc.

I started out by thinking that this should be one big style guide which will have a contents and will be flicked through to find the appropriate section. However, I felt it would be more appropriate to create several documents for each section so that the designer can get the information they need quicker.
