During the storyboarding workshop, I came up with key frames that could work in my animation. The key part of design for digital media is make sure you approach the software (Adobe Aftereffects) with a clear vision of what you want to achieve. This is why storyboarding is so important. I chose the 'p' from my word open as a starting point and started to animate that letter in a variety of ways.My initial sketches shown here were stretched across 12 frames, something which didn't really work for me, as I felt that I was sketching frame by frame rather than key frames where the changes were significant. My sketches were very basic at this point as I did not have idea of what fonts or colours I would be using, but I did know what I wanted to eventually achieve. Getting the ideas on paper made everything clear and I could then move on to chopping and changing key frames to get achieve an edited storyboard that I could work with.
I sketched out my 3 animations on 3 separate sheets and edited them to six frames each. This proved to be enough for me as the story progressed smoothly through each frame.
The last thing I did was to combine all of the frames to make one animation. The frames sat well together and I found that they transitted quite well to become seamless in the end.
