Postcard brief

We finally have a new brief to start on. The requirements of the brief are to design 4 postcard size resolutions based on my taxonomies. I decided produce my postcards with a theme running throughout, although this was not essential. The aim of this brief seems to make sure I have an understanding of colour when printing.

I have come to quick solution for this brief and I am happy with the amount of work I have seen as this was the first week back. I am just happy to get back working again. My concept is public safety and security. I have chosen to take a satirical view in some of my resolutions which mirrors the work ethics of graffiti artist Banksy. A lot of his work has a political or controversial edge and I wanted my work to have a similar tone.

His work was a big part of my summer as I visited the Banksy exhibition and I have been taking a real interest in his work. That, coupled with the images of signage I have gave me my concept and ideas. Here are my resolutions for the postcards, I have all the backup work in sketchbook which I intend to present alongside this work. I have stuck to the colour requirements of the brief and used tints where I could.
